Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level extension is the only one supposed to be for personal websites only. These domain names can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are known by. Initially, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to reserve john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken third-level domains remained online.

Through our firm, you can obtain your .NAME domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to update the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer code from the current registration provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been done. There are no particular restrictions on who can secure a .NAME domain, but in order to maintain the objective behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.

The .NAME universal top-level extension is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no further cost.
